“GNRS” Grand National Roadster Show

Left behind the lights of Vegas for one day and high tailed it up to Pomona, California for the 62nd Grand National Roadster Show.  A long drive for the Merrick Duo, but well worth it!  We covered as much of the show as possible and there was so much to see…hot rods, customs, classics and pinups.  Being a Vegas based internet business we do not always have the opportunity to meet the talented people that we work with and it was great to spot some of you in the vast crowds and talk in person!  Hope you enjoy our photos below and we look forward to the shows to come.

Here are some interesting show facts:

  • The GNRS is now in its 62nd year. Once known as the Oakland Roadster Show, it is the longest running indoor car show in the world! Produced at the Fairplex in Pomona for the 8th consecutive year.
  • Over 500 show vehicles will compete for awards inside all of the Fairplex buildings. Another 400-800 vehicles will join the event Saturday & Sunday for the GNRS Drive In parked in between the buildings and walkways.
  • This year’s show theme is Route 66. Cars and vendors are encouraged to decorate with the nostalgia of the period.
  • See a historic gathering of custom cars in our specially featured building, “Customs Then and Now,” time lining the origin of the American Custom Car phenomenon.
  • Watch and bid on artwork created by the best pinstripers in the nation at the Pinstriper’s Reunion. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to nearby charities.
  • Listen to live music all three days inside Building 10 and outside and see celebrities throughout the show.
  • Few Celebrities in attendance you may know: Courtney Hansen (Host of Spike’s “Powerblock” and former host of the popular “Overhaulin.”), Bryan Fuller (Creator of Fuller Hot Rods and an integral part of the Foose Design Team).
