Staci Louise

This week we have an up and coming Pin-Up Star.  As so many girls enjoy the flirty seductive pin-up photo shoot, only some truly take in what it means to be a Vintage Pin-Up.  Staci Louise has such a great appreciation for those who came before her and those presently in the pin-up world, realizing each one has something to offer.  There is much more to pin-up modeling and burlesque then a hot outfit and classic pose.  She has found her own personal style to represent the passion which has become her daily life. We think she has what it takes to be the next big thing!  Bettie Page would be proud!

Her Bio: I was born in Fresno, California on October 3rd, 1988. Growing up I was very shy, quiet, and kind of a tomboy until the middle of my high school years when I really got into fashion. As a big fan of classic Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe and my pin-up hero Bettie Page, I was especially into retro style and began incorporating the looks into my daily life. In 2007, I met my boyfriend Chad Clark, a hair cutting educator for the SalonTouch Studio who I began modeling for. I did photo shoots and stage presentation modeling mostly avant-garde looks until I did a classic Hollywood, Monroe-inspired shoot and fell in love with pinup modeling.

In 2009 I took a year-long break from shooting, focusing on work and my personal life. That year I went to a burlesque show in Fresno and snapped up the opportunity to take burlesque classes with the Valley Burlesque Society as soon as I could, and that Halloween I shook it onstage for the very first time in a group performance. That April I performed my first solo act under the name Chad gave me, “Bear Bottoms!” I choreographed, constructed my costume, and painstakingly chose my music all on my own, and it was so rewarding. Going in front of a packed house in sparkly pink pasties was definitely my bravest moment. I’d found my calling and being a living pinup was it!

Recently I got the major opportunity to move to Los Angeles, and my Pinup Girl dreams have been coming true ever since! Shortly after I moved in the summer of 2010, I won the first Miss Venice Vintage pinup pageant for the Venice Vintage Motorcycle Club, judged by Heidi Van Horne and Bridget Blonde. It was a major break for my aspirations and I get to represent an amazing group of ultra-supportive people.

Pinup has been an amazing way to come out of my shell, play different characters, and be appreciated for who I am. I’m incredibly inspired by my friends, family, and the amazingly talented people I’ve had the chance to work with. Every day is a chance to make a dream come true!
